Our guests from the Tamar Regional Council, our Israel partner region, have arrived in Tulsa for four days of exploration and opportunities with the Tulsa Jewish community. The Jewish Federation of Tulsa is honored to partner with one of Israel’s most breathtaking and historically rich regions, stretching from the Dead Sea to the Judean Desert.

Nir Wanger, Mayor, Tamar Regional Council, Dead Sea, Israel.
“We are excited to be here in Tulsa, following the four delegations from Tulsa that have already visited us at the Dead Sea. During these challenging times for Israel and Jewish communities worldwide, it is crucial to strengthen the bonds between all Jews and between Israel and its friends in the United States. This strengthening is particularly important in education, as it will shape our people’s future. We look forward to our visit.”

Ofra Gazit – Council Spokesperson and Director of Foreign Relations, Tamar Regional Council
“The Jewish communities in the United States are the source of strength for the State of Israel and its people. The opportunity to meet and strengthen bonds with the Jewish community in Tulsa, Oklahoma fills me with excitement, hope, and faith that the Jewish people thrive wherever they may be. As we approach our first official visit with the community and its members, recognizing how education shapes the future of every society, I am moved to come and meet those who have already visited Tamar.”

Revital Maimon – Director of Education, Tamar Regional Council
Drawing on over three decades of dedicated service in Israel’s education system, I currently lead the Education Department at the Tamar Regional Council. My commitment to our community extends beyond education – I serve as a volunteer medic and ambulance driver in our region’s medical services, embodying my belief in active community engagement.
Throughout my career, I have witnessed how community involvement creates resilient bonds that strengthen not only our local region but also reach across Israel and beyond our borders. The cultivation of relationships with Jewish communities worldwide stands at the heart of this vision, exemplified beautifully by the flourishing partnership between Tamar and Tulsa.
As I join the Tamar delegation to Tulsa, I eagerly anticipate deepening our understanding of your community while sharing our vision for an exciting new initiative – the Educational Village in Ein-Gedi. This innovative project represents our commitment to creating a dynamic educational hub that will serve as a bridge between local and international communities, fostering collaboration and mutual growth.
