Our first guest:
Georgia State Representative Esther Panitch has always advocated for those without voice or representation, first as a public defender in Miami and Fulton County and later in private practice, assisting victims of domestic violence and Boy Scout abuse. Recently, as the only Jewish state legislator in Georgia, she co-sponsored and ensured the passage of legislation to codify the definition of antisemitism into state law and protect the Jewish community from discrimination. Prior to the passing of the new law, Esther received threatening mail at her home. After the passing of the bill, Esther said, “There are 150,000 Jews in Georgia that now feel like they have been seen, and heard, and acknowledged and protected.”
