My first job was in a family owned Italian restaurant when I was 14. The owner’s daughter was in my Sunday school class, so he gave me a chance. I learned a lot from that experience and Italian has been comfort food for me ever since.
A lot of our life experiences have gone into the Pastaria. I went to culinary school and then university, where I met Anna. We got married young, and then moved to Oregon. While in Oregon, I learned to brew, distill, and make wine. We then left for Guatemala where I worked at a brewpub. Six years and a lot of adventures later, we moved to Anna’s hometown, Tulsa.
