The Sisterhood groups from Congregation B’nai Emunah, the Jewish Federation of Tulsa’s Pearl Society, and Temple Israel are partnering to support the Women in Recovery program with a meaningful social action project. Together, we’re Cooking Up New Beginnings by gathering essential kitchen supplies for women as they rebuild their lives.

Help us fill kitchen baskets with items like kitchen towels, pots and pans, measuring tools, and cutting boards—essential tools that help make a house feel like a home. Join us on Sunday, December 15th, at Women in Recovery to assemble these baskets with love and care. Sisterhood schmooze will begin at 10:30am and the assembling will begin at 11am.

How You Can Help:

Volunteer: Sign up to join us for this impactful assembly day!

Donate Supplies: Shop from our Amazon wishlist or shop items locally, then drop them off at Congregation B’nai Emunah, Jewish Federation of Tulsa, or Temple Israel.

More about Women in Recovery:

Women in Recovery (WIR) is an intensive outpatient diversion program designed to provide an alternative to incarceration for women facing prison sentences for drug-related offenses. WIR addresses Oklahoma’s high female incarceration rates through a holistic approach spanning ten core areas: clinical services, case management, education, employment, housing, health and wellness, parent-child reunification, recovery support, court navigation, and continuing care. By offering individualized treatment and targeted support in each domain, WIR empowers participants to achieve long-term stability, reduce recidivism, and foster self-sufficiency.

A hallmark of WIR is its dual-generational approach, which strengthens family bonds and addresses the intergenerational impact of incarceration and substance abuse. Additionally, the program provides lifelong continuing care to graduates, ensuring sustained support in sobriety, employment, and family relationships. Through its evidence-based practices and compassionate services, WIR transforms lives, strengthens families, and enhances community well-being.
