Jewish Tulsa and Tulsa Town Hall are partnering to bring the New York Times bestselling author of We Were the Lucky Ones, Georgia Hunter. At fifteen years old, Georgia discovered that she came from a family of Holocaust survivors. Years later, she embarked on a decade-long journey of intensive research, determined to unearth and record her family’s remarkable story. We Were the Lucky Ones was born of that effort. Released in 2017, the novel has been translated into over 20 languages and was adapted in 2023 by Hulu as a limited series, for which Hunter served as co-executive producer. Hunter’s second novel, One Good Thing, was released in March of 2025.
