For Women, About Women

This Pearl Society is a women’s affinity group program that gathers quarterly for topics of interest about women, for women, and helping women. 

This program features a distinguished panel discussing bodily autonomy through their professional and personal life experiences.

Women guests welcome at Pearl Society events one time. Membership is encouraged.

Brunch catered by Jewish restaurant owner/chef Joel Bein.

Menu: bagels with cream cheese and smoked salmon shmear, egg salad, tuna salad, fruit salad, and french toast bread pudding.

Erika Stone DuBose

Erika is a doctoral student at the University of Oklahoma, and a graduate of the OU Master of Social Work program. A recipient of the Student Advocacy Award from the OU Division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, she is a social worker in the Emergency Department of St Francis Hospital. Erika studies vaccine hesitancy in underserved populations through a grant from the George Kaiser Family Foundation. 

Maria Hernandez

Maria manages curriculum development and supports community outreach efforts as Take Control Initiative’s Learning & Engagement Manager.  Maria is committed to improving sexual and reproductive health, with a focus on providing equitable access to high-quality resources for communities of color. As a proud Latina and sexuality educator, she has witnessed the linguistic, cultural, and systemic obstacles many people in her community face when seeking education and support related to their sexual health.

Suzanne Schreiber

Suzanne was elected as the State Representative for District 70 in 2022. She currently serves on Banking, Financial Services, & Pensions, Energy & Natural Resources, Judiciary Civil, and Human Services A & B Committees. She holds a law degree from the University of Tulsa College of Law as well as a Bachelor of Science in political science and law and society from the University of Tulsa.

Joshua Yap, M.D.

Joshua is a physician at Planned Parenthood Great Plains, Tulsa. Their clinical work revolves around sexual and reproductive health. With training from around the country and now working in Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, and Tennessee, they have gotten to see a nation divided over sexual and gender rights. Dr. Yap trains residents from OU as well as educates medical students with Medical Students for Choice. Around town, you might have seen Dr. Yap in a musical, most recently as a drag queen in Theatre Tulsa’s Kinky Boots!
