Crisis Relief – How We Help

Havoc wreaked by deadly hurricanes in Puerto Rico, Florida, Texas, and beyond has left communities in dire need of assistance as victims struggle to meet urgent needs and rebuild.

The strongest earthquakes to hit Mexico in decades have killed hundreds of people and destroyed thousands of homes.

When disaster strikes, here at home or around the world, we come together as a community to respond.

A centralized way to give to all those in need of our help this year is through the Tulsa Jewish United Fund (TJUF), our Annual Campaign. When you give through TJUF, it enables us to send support to our national organization, the Jewish Federations of North America.

Our network of local and international partners enables us to respond quickly and effectively in a crisis. We fund urgently needed basics like food and medicine, and long-term needs like trauma counseling. We provide resources to emergency service providers so they can help where they’re most needed.

We also enable trained staff to expand their support of the most vulnerable populations, whose needs escalate during emergencies.

Every gift counts!

Additionally, the Jewish Federation of Tulsa is partnering with the Mexican Consulate in Little Rock, AR as a collection site for needed items that will be transported to earthquake victims. See below for a list of items that may be dropped off at the CSJCC before Oct 10:

Non-Perishable Foods: baby food; canned tuna; sardines; beans; rice; lentils; canned soup; canned chilies; instant chicken consommé; canned veggies; salt; sugar; mayonnaise; coffee; powdered milk; flour; tea; hot cocoa mix; and cereal.

Other Items: drinking water; baby bibs; toothpaste; soap; shampoo; adult & infant diapers; metal rakes; first aid kits; feminine hygiene products; antibacterial gel/wipes; syringes; blankets; gauze; cotton balls; rubbing alchol; and latex goves.
